How long is a typical session?
Sessions usually last 60 minutes total unless longer is requested.
What does a session look like?
Sessions are semi clothed (loose clothing or underware). I do a quick body scan in the standing position to assess any structural issues and then the remainder of the session is on the table where I blend Rolfing, core integration and trauma release techniques to facilitate the bodies ability to reach for a higher level of organization when you walk out the door and back into your life. Sometimes it is useful to discuss any emotional, psychological or Spiritual beliefs, concerns or challenges as these areas are directly related to the physical experience and have a profound impact on physical experience
Do you experience emotional release during the sessions?
Often times clients report that they will re-experience emotional memories or revisit past situations associated to an event, emotional or physical, that has had an impact on them and comes up for healing. Traumatic physical events usually have an emotional component associated with them influencing how one relates to their body during and after such an event. An emotional event like a divorce, illness, emotional abuse or loss can percipitate a challenging physical impact on our bodies as well. In essence, any kind of intense stress creates responses in our physiology, affecting and even changing our neurochemistry. This chain of events then directly affects the way we behave, think and feel. The rythmn and design of each session is unique and intuitively cultivated to allow for release of trauma annd change to occur in a safe environment.
Can these sessions help with degenerative spine and disk conditions?
Both Rolfing and Core Integration support degenerative problems in the spine from worsening. Providing proper alignment of the bones and soft tissue in the spinal column allow for ease and balance within the framework. When genetic degeneration is present, good alignment creates less chance for the structure to collapse or weaken prematurely . Eventual degeneration in the spine is a direct result of the lack of solid long term alignment of the bones to begin with. The constant strain of maintaining balance in a vertical column of bones which are not well supported by the guy-wires of the soft tissue system will eventually break down the integrity of the structure itslef. This in turn causes degeneration due to wear and tear.
Can these sessions help with chronic problems like fatigue, other degenerative conditions and auto immune problems?
Yes. Again, auto immune problems and any condition that has a degenerative progression is ultimately a product of our perceptions by the time we are having to deal with it. Core Integration addresses the conditioning of the viscera and nervous systems usually due to high levels of stress that have been perceived and experienced by the physical and emotional bodies as trauma. Core Integration releases embeded trauma within one or more organs and nervous tissue, restoring normal function.
Can I get relief from plantar fasciatis pain?
The feet are the primary foundation in the body and most of the muscles, ligaments and tendons of the feet extend up into the lower leg and could cintinue up into the knee. This painful condition can not only be helped a great deal, it can virtually be eliminated in many case with a few treatments depending on the severity.
Can animals benefit from these sessions?
Yes, definitely! Animals do hold stress and tension in their bodies and often it is in response to their human companion. Many times our beloved furry and feathery companions will take on our emotional frequencies and store them in their bodies because of their ability to be so deeply loving and compassionate. The most wonderful quality about animals is that they also have the ability to “shake-it-off” rather quickly because they do not have the same mental relationship with their condition. Healing sessions with animals are usually fun, quick and gratifying because our sweet friends are always clear about their needs and how they respond to our help. Sessions with animals are commonly 30 minutes.
